Thursday

Wednesday was a fun day. We had a lot of people doing a lot of different things in the morning. We finished putting the tile floor down. Today we are going to grout it. A team was on the roof and got the first coat done and most of the second. It rained in the afternoon, so we'll hopefully finish that this morning too. A group toured the school and talked to the director. We learned a lot about the combining of Eliza Martinez and San Gabriel and the effect it has had on the teachers, workers, and the boys. It wasn't very smooth. There is still a lot of adjusting going on. The director of the school is Lionell. He is very concerned about the boys and their welfare. We asked a lot of questions and then were able to pray over him and the school. Some ladies helped in the kitchen too. There are 2 ladies in there who work a 24 shift and cook the food for all the boys plus another home. They work very hard and do almost everything from scratch. We talked to them a little as well and learned a little about their families.
The afternoon was great. We finally got the puppets so they could perform. It was pouring rain again, so we did our activities inside. We talked about temptation. We gave all the boys a Bible and wrote their names in them. We also gave them a highlighter to highlight verses. They were very excited. We had them paint the wooden cars we brought. Then it was time to go.

Wow, it is great to hear that things are going so well for you! We hope Ralph is feeling OK after his fall through the roof... that's not the best way to start a mission trip!! We are praying that the remainder of your week will go well. Thankfully back home the weather has finally cooled down and we've received a good rain today.

It has been fun to watch for your posts and pictures this week! We can't wait to hear all about the trip when you return!

It's great to hear that you are not seriously hurt, Ralph! Praise God for that! It sounds like all of you are keeping very busy and having quite an impact on the lives of those you are meeting. Keep up the great work! Time is flying, eh? Our prayers are with you for continued safety and blessings as you serve in Jesus' name. Hans and Ethel :)

Hi Bob and Tiff and mission team!!
thanks for the blogs we've enjoyed reading about your daily activities. Are you all staying healthy, how's the food? Are you ready to help with our spanish next year? Here the 90+ degree heat wave finally broke so we started working in our classrooms. We will keep you in our prayers for a safe trip home!
