Today we are in Antigua and we have internet service! The girls were a pleasant surprise, and the noise factor was about a tenth of what the previous days were at the boys' home. The girls enjoyed the singing and the VBS went very well also; unfortunately, we only have one more day to visit with them. Our lesson today focused on inner beauty with the story of Esther, and tomorrow's lesson will be about Ruth.
The girls' home is very nice; it used to be the palace of the President until they moved the capital to Guatemala. It is run by nuns and it is a government-run orphanage. There are about 100 girls here and we have split into groups of about 35 each and have three stations that they rotate to. The story is at one station, crafts at another, and then free time with games and sidewalk chalk. Pray for the girls that they will see Christ in us and for safe travel back to Guatemala.
We are all sad thinking about having to leave for home and not being able to spend more time with the boys and girls, but we trust that they have gotten as much out of our visit with them as we have gotten from them.
