Things a wrapping up nicely on the day before we have to say goodbye. The additional tile projects are all layed and will be grouted on Friday. The tile mosaics that were made by Ally, Ashley,Angie, and Lisa look incredible. Glenn mentioned how awesome it was that something so beautiful could be made out of broken and left over tile. In a way it is symbolic of the children at the orphanage. They all come from some sort of broken family but together they are beautiful. You will have to see pictured of the tile because it does look incredible.
A huge success was the completion of the dropped ceiling in the bakery. Preparation was started on Wednesday but the rest was completed today. New light were also added so they are no longer dependent on four bulbs to light up this big room. We were fortunate enough to drive by last night when it was dark and we saw that we forgot to turn off the lights. The room was glowing. It was so bright with the new white ceiling and lights that it was lighting up the front of the orphanage. Carlos, the man who will be the head baker, told the ceiling crew how thankful he was. Glenn and Bruce said he was almost in tears saying how thankful he was for the work that we did because things like this would never be done if it was just left to them. Glenn, Bruce and John DenBoer worked all morning and afternoon on these dropped ceilings with some additional help from MerrieBeth and Chase. There was a lot of time and hard work spent on the ceilings but the thank you from Carlos makes it all worth it!!!
This week has flown by which means that tomorrow is the day to say goodbye. It is by far the hardest day at the orphanage. A few kids were already starting to cry tonight because they new it was the last time we could say, "cya tomorrow!!" It is terribly difficult on Friday because you are distracted most of the day playing and having fun and before you know it, it'd time to go. Please pray that God will give us strength and peace for tomorrow as well as for the kids. It's a beautiful day but it is so hard.
Thank you

What a lot of work has been done! i like Glenn's idea about the tike, how God uses broken pieces to put together to make things whole! Only God can use people in that way, and He has used all of you! What a blessing! Prayers for all of you as you finish today and as you say good-bye. Ecclesiastes 3:2-8 says there is a time for everything and God will give you the grace for this day also. Love, Mary Van
