Today went smooth. Tiling is going faster than expected so additional projects are being found so we can continue to cover cement floors that are terrible for sweeping. The bakery is almost complete in regards to the flooring. All of the tile is in and only a few small areas still need grout. The additional projects added are in the office and pharmacy as well as a small bathroom. It's almost an extra 200sq ft. Should be no problem and it will look so much better than the cement floor they have been using.
The ceiling tile has also been going great. Bruce Mejeur, Glenn Leep, and John DenBoer have been working non-stop on the ceiling tile with much assistance from others of the group. It has been going well and they are on track to finish the back boys dorm as well as the bakery. The boys dorm looks so much better already with a nice white ceiling instead of the tin roof and rafters. It will be really exciting to see the bakery with the new floor and ceiling.
VBS went good tonight as well. The second day always flows better then the first. Today the kids got to paint the clay bowls they made from yesterday tying into the theme that Jesus is the potter and we are the clay. They love to paint and the orphanage definitely has some incredible artists.
We were invited to have dinner with the kids tonight at the orphanage. It was a pizza party celebrating the birthday of one of the teachers at the school. It was a great time to spend with the teachers of the school as well as the kids. It is absolutely incredible how many pieces of pizza those kids can eat. Tonight a little 40 lb 6 year old ate 10 pieces of Domino's pizza. I was pretty hungry and I think I only had 8 pieces. I'm not sure where he put it considering I have 160lbs of more space.
Overall today was awesome! Tomorrow is breakfast with the kids so we have to be up early. On the bus at 5:15!! Pray that we all wake up on time:) thank you so much for all of your prayers! For tonight, good night/buenos noches or "buns with no cheese" according to John DeMaagd.
