Greetings from Guatemala!!!
We left early on Friday at 6:15 a.m. from Grand Rapids Airport. We arrived in Guatemala at 11:30 a.m.
(Guatemala time which is 2 hours ahead.) We were greeted by our wonderful translators, Manuel and Antonio. We hopped on the bus and got some lunch and supplies and then headed on our 6 hour bus ride to Huehuetenango. We arrived late in the evening on Friday and ate some dinner and headed to bed.

We got up early Saturday and ate some breakfast and we headed off to the orphanage to look over projects and to spend some time with the kids. We had lunch back at the hotel and then we set off to visit the Myan Ruins. We almost got rained out, but it stayed in the mountains. Later that evening we went back to the orphanage dressed up as pirates. We made pop corn and juice and watched the Veggie Tales movie "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything". It was a late night and most of the kids crashed out on a lap. They really enjoyed getting served by pirates.

Sunday morning was absolutely gorgeous. We left the hotel and ate breakfast and went to Light and Truth Church. We joined in communion and the pastor asked us to come forward. Antonio explained who we were and where we were from and what are mission is. The pastor and the congregation welcomed us with open arms as fellow believers. It was very interesting because it was ALL in Spanish. We may not have understood all the words, but it was comforting knowing that we were worshiping God together in one place. After church we came back to the hotel to get VBS stuff around and then set off to the orphanage to talk about Creation. This was the first VBS lesson for the week and we had roughly 120 kids. We sang songs, made a creation wheel and played and played and played some more. It was very successful and we thank God that it went smoothly. Had devotions and then we are headed off to bed because tomorrow we get to serve the kids breakfast. Bus leaves at 4:50 a.m.!
We are very excited and can't wait for the rest of the week and what God has in store for us. Thank you for all your prayers and your continued prayers.
Love Always from Guatemala,
The Team :)
